As we come to the end of Term Three I would like to thank the school staff for their efforts this term.There is wonderful learning taking place in our classrooms every day and there is much to celebrate. I also thank our parents for the ongoing support which is seen in a variety of ways.
I hope the school holidays provide students and staff a chance to recharge their batteries and come back full of energy for what is always a busy time in the school calendar, term four. For those travelling, please do so safely.
Uniforms
A reminder to parents that the wearing of Summer uniforms begins next term. This includes school hats. If a child does not have a hat on the playground, they will be asked to move, and will be supervised, in a shaded area.
Mission Day
Thank you to Mrs Murray, teachers and our senior students for putting together many wonderful activities for Mission Day. Despite the chilly weather it was a huge success with very excited students supporting all the stalls.
MacKillop Athletics Championships
Congratulations to our 5 students who headed to Sydney this week to represent the Canberra-Goulburn Archdiocese in the MacKillop Athletics Championships. When watching the live stream it was obvious the competition was very strong! We had a great time in class either watching our kids compete or catching a glimpse of them on camera!!! Here are the results:
Henry Aiken - 13th in both the 11yrs 100m & 200m
Sam Presser - 11th in the 12-13yrs Long Jump
Kynan Burgess - 5th in the 11 yrs Long Jump (made the Top 5 - wahoo!!)
Harlee Cartwright - 8th in the 11yrs Discus
Rose Butt - 11th in the 8-10yrs Shot Put
What an amazing effort to be Archdiocesan representatives and well done on your results! Amazing!!
Sporting School Grant
A reminder we will be hosting Geoff from Gecko Sports once again in Term 4. These sessions will run from Week 1 to Week 8 on Wednesdays. Students are required to wear their sports uniform for their timetabled sessions. Weeks 1 to 4: 6C, 6E, 3/4S & 5Z. We are very excited to be working with Geoff again!!
South West Slopes Tri Tag Gala Day
Thank you to those parents who completed the Google form for an EOI to participate in this event. Unfortunately we were unable to form a team in either the 3/4 division or the 5/6 division so will not be competing this year.
Archdiocesan Sport for 2025 - NOTIFICATION OF TRIAL DATES
Please note that some Archdiocesan Sporting trials for 2025 will occur this year in Term 4. These trials will be open for students who will be in Year 5 & 6 in 2025. Registrations will be via the Canberra-Goulburn Sports Webpage.
2025 Cricket - to be held in Queanbeyan on Tuesday 19th November 2024. Registrations are open now and will close on Tuesday 12th November 2024.
2025 Tennis - to be held in Belconnen on Thursday 28th November, 2024. Registrations are open now and will close on Friday 22nd November, 2024.
2025 Basketball - to be held in Macquarie on Tuesday 26th November 2024. Registrations are open now and will close on Friday 22nd November, 2024.
